Must I fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive student loans?

Yes, all students wishing to receive financial aid must fill out the FAFSA form. You should receive a FAFSA form in your Financial Aid Packet if you are a new student. If you are a continuing student you may pick up a form in the Financial Aid office. Both new and continuing students may fill out the FAFSA form online by going to "www.fafsa.ed.gov".

When should I fill out the Financial Aid forms?

New students should fill out their Financial Aid Forms as soon as they receive their packet. For continuing students new Financial Aid Forms are available every January. ENOCIS's deadline for each school year is mid-March for continuing students. If you are a new student starting in the summer or fall semester the mid-March deadline does not apply to you, however you should fill out your forms as soon as possible.

What do I do if I have not filed my tax return before the deadline to turn in the FAFSA Form?

If you or your parents have not filed a tax return before the deadline date to turn in the FAFSA Form you may estimate the income information. There is a place on the FAFSA Form to show that you are estimating the figures. When you or your parents do file a tax return, please send a copy to the Financial Aid Office so that the figures can be corrected.

I or my parents do not have a copy of our tax returns and you are requesting a signed copy what do I do?

If you need a copy of your filed tax return you may obtain one by contacting the IRS for a 1722 form, which would be their copy of your tax return. This can be done by going to your nearest Federal Building, or by calling 1-800-829-1040.

Can I get an unsubsidized loan?

An unsubsidized loan is a program designed for independent students to help offset the cost of tuition. Therefore, independent students may always apply for this loan. Dependent students, however, may apply for this loan only if their parents apply for a parent PLUS loan and are denied. ENOCIS is required to get a new denial every loan period.
